If you are looking for information about how we handle information about people who receive LSC services, please see our separate Participant Privacy Notice.

What information we collect

Information you provide

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you contact us, sign up for our newsletter, request information about our services, or interact with us through our website. This may include:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Mailing address
  • Contact preferences
  • The content of any messages you send us

We do not request or collect sensitive information through our website. If you need to share sensitive information with us as part of your services, your provider will work with you directly through secure channels.

Newsletter signups

If you sign up for our newsletter through our website, your signup is processed by Beehiiv, our newsletter platform. Here is how it works:

  1. You submit your email address (and any other information you choose to provide) through the signup form on our website.
  2. The form sends your information directly to Beehiiv via a secure API connection.
  3. Beehiiv sends you a confirmation email asking you to confirm your subscription (this is called "double opt-in" and helps ensure that the person who owns the email address actually wants to receive our newsletter).
  4. Once you confirm, you are added to our newsletter list and will receive our newsletter from Beehiiv until you unsubscribe.

You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter email. Unsubscribe requests are processed automatically by Beehiiv.

We do not add people to our newsletter list who have not signed up through our website. We do not add email addresses we have collected for other purposes (such as service inquiries or referrals) to our newsletter list without your separate consent.

We comply with the federal CAN-SPAM Act and applicable email marketing laws. Every newsletter email we send identifies LSC as the sender, includes a working unsubscribe mechanism, and includes our physical mailing address.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our web server may collect limited technical information automatically as part of normal web traffic, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages you visit on our site
  • Date and time of your visit

This information is used to keep the website secure and diagnose technical problems. We do not use this information for analytics tracking, advertising, or to build profiles of individual visitors.

See Cookies below for details about what cookies, if any, our website sets.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and requests
  • Provide information about our services
  • Send our newsletter to people who have signed up to receive it
  • Send service-related communications (such as confirmations or follow-ups to inquiries)
  • Maintain the security and proper functioning of our website
  • Diagnose technical problems
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, targeted advertising, or cross-context behavioral profiling. We do not send marketing communications to people who have not asked to receive them.

How we share your information

We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

With our service providers. We work with vendors who help us operate our website and communicate with you. Our primary service providers include:

  • Netlify — Website hosting and contact form processing
  • Beehiiv — Newsletter platform that manages our subscriber list and sends our newsletter
  • Resend — Transactional email service used to send automated emails such as confirmations and notifications
  • Our general business email provider for direct correspondence

These providers are bound by their terms of service and privacy commitments, which require them to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we authorize. We do not share your information with any third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

Business transfers. If LSC undergoes a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of its business, your information may be transferred to the other party as part of that transaction.

Legal obligations. We may share information if required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal request (such as a subpoena), or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months, and we have no plans to do so in the future.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small data file placed on your device when you visit a website. Our use of cookies is minimal.

What cookies we do not use

Our website does not use:

  • Advertising cookies or tracking pixels
  • Analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics)
  • Cross-site behavioral tracking
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Cookies for targeted advertising or behavioral profiling
  • Third-party marketing cookies

What cookies we may use

Our website may set a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary for site functionality. These may include:

  • A session cookie used to maintain your visit while you navigate between pages
  • An authentication cookie if you sign into an administrative or restricted area of the site (this would not apply to typical public visitors)

We do not currently set non-essential cookies, and we do not currently use a cookie consent banner because we do not set cookies that require consent under applicable privacy laws. If we add non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide a consent mechanism where required.

Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete cookies that have been set, or alert you when cookies are being set. The following links explain how to manage cookies in common browsers:

If you disable cookies entirely, some features of our website may not work properly.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is currently no industry or legal consensus on how to respond to DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signal as required by California law, although because we do not engage in the kinds of processing that GPC is designed to opt out of (sale, sharing, targeted advertising), the practical effect is the same as our default behavior.

How long we keep your information

We keep information you provide to us for as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

When we no longer need the information, we delete it or de-identify it. If complete deletion is not possible (for example, because the information is held in backup archives), we securely store the information and isolate it from further use until deletion becomes possible.

How we protect your information

We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the information we collect. These include encryption of data in transit, secure storage, and access controls.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent all unauthorized access. If we ever experience a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

Information about minors

We do not knowingly collect information through our website from children under 18 years of age. Our website is not directed at children, and we do not intentionally market to them.

This applies specifically to information collected through our website. Our services, which are described in our separate Participant Privacy Notice, may serve participants under 18 (for example, students receiving Pre-Employment Transition Services). Information collected in the course of providing those services is governed by the Participant Privacy Notice and the applicable funder and educational agency requirements, not by this Privacy Policy.

If you believe a child has provided us with information through our website, please contact us at joseph@lincolnsqcoaching.com and we will take steps to delete it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. These rights include:

  • Right to know. Request information about whether we are processing your personal information, what we have collected, and how we have used it.
  • Right to access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to correct. Request that we correct inaccurate information.
  • Right to delete. Request that we delete information we hold about you.
  • Right to portability. Request your information in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Right to opt out. Opt out of the processing of your information for targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling. (We do not engage in any of these activities.)
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia have rights under state privacy laws. Depending on your state, additional rights may apply.

How to exercise your rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@lincolnsqcoaching.com or by phone at (212) 320-8973 ext. 2007.

We will verify your identity before responding to your request to ensure we are providing information to the correct person. If we cannot verify your identity from the information we already have, we may request additional information.

If you submit a request through an authorized agent, we may require written authorization from you and may need to verify the agent's identity.

If we decline to take action on your request, you may appeal our decision by emailing us at info@lincolnsqcoaching.com with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond in writing.

Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signal when it is enabled on your browser.

California Shine the Light Law

California residents may request, once per year, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not currently share information for third-party direct marketing purposes, but if this changes, this section will be updated. To make a request, contact us at the information above.

Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we will notify visitors by prominently posting a notice on our website or by direct notification where appropriate.
